During February the KALEIDOS Project hosted the two-day training for research managers “Driving Impact: Empowering Research Managers in Knowledge Valorisation, Co-Creation & Open Science” at the office of WeDo Project Intelligence Made Easy in Barcelona.
Under the KALEIDOS focus to help universities develop strategies for turning research into tangible societal, industrial, and policy benefits, the training equipped managers with skills to have a facilitator role in this regard It emphasized the pivotal role of research managers in the co-creation process, bridging academia, industry, government, and civil society.
The training covered a range of key topics, including knowledge valorisation, where participants explored concepts, successful examples, and institutional preparedness. Open science practices were discussed in detail, focusing on open access publishing, FAIR principles, and policy frameworks.
Managerial self-reflection sessions encouraged managers to develop their skills in leadership, time management, and aligning personal values with institutional goals. Additionally, sessions on integrating knowledge valorisation and open science covered intellectual property strategies, impact assessment, and collaborative project development.
